Pawdometer for overweight dogs
A weight tracker for dogs who need to lose some
Weight plans fail when nobody is measuring. Pawdometer logs the weigh-ins against the target, measures the walks by GPS, shows what each walk burned against the daily need, and never tells you what to feed.

A target, and every weigh-in against it
Enter the ideal weight you set with the vet. Each weigh-in lands on a trend line against it, with a reminder daily, every three days or weekly, so a weight plan has a graph instead of a feeling.
Walks measured, not estimated
Distance by GPS, moving pace with sniff stops excluded. A 45-minute walk at a purposeful 15 minutes per mile is twice the walk of a sniffy 45, and the record shows which one happened.
Calories in proportion
Walking burn from veterinary formulas (0.8 to 1.0 kcal per kg per km) shown against the daily need from the WSAVA and NRC equations. A 25 kg dog's 3 km walk is about 5 percent of the day, and seeing that is what makes the treat count honest.
No diet advice
Pawdometer shows what a walk burned and roughly what the dog needs. What to feed is a conversation for you and your vet, and the app stays out of it on purpose.

Questions
Does Pawdometer tell me how much to feed my dog?
No. It shows the daily energy need from the standard veterinary formulas as context, labeled as an estimate, and leaves feeding to you and your vet.
Can walking alone make my dog lose weight?
Rarely. A daily walk is a few percent of a dog's energy need. Walking keeps muscle and joints while portions do the weight loss; the app makes both halves measurable.
How does the app know my dog's ideal weight?
You enter it, ideally after a body condition score with the vet. Our guide on ideal weight shows how to estimate it from the score.
